Rhino U.S.A. took over Walmart Store #2206 in Laguna Niguel with Rhino Jam, a high-energy, action-sports–meets-retail event designed to introduce the brand to new shoppers in Southern California. Timed strategically with Sand Show weekend, the activation blended entertainment, education, and community engagement to create a standout retail moment shoppers couldn’t ignore.

Challenge

Breaking through at retail requires more than signage, it demands an experience. As Rhino U.S.A. expanded into Walmart, the brand needed a way to:

  • Stand out in a crowded automotive and outdoor category
  • Drive discovery among new shoppers
  • Build emotional connection through hands-on engagement
  • Translate action-sports energy into a mass-retail environment

Rhino needed a moment big enough to match the brand.

The Opportunity

Rhino Jam created a unique intersection of adrenaline and retail, bridging action sports culture with big-box accessibility. The activation provided an opportunity to:

We transformed the Walmart parking lot into a fully branded 150' x 50' Rhino takeover, complete with:

  • Rhino tents, barricades, umbrellas, coolers, and event decals
  • Branded staff apparel and premium giveaways
  • A custom photo backdrop and branded BMX ramps

Live Entertainment

  • Two high-energy BMX stunt shows featuring pro riders
  • A live DJ driving the event’s momentum
